Al deze plekken die je in dit project ziet hadden vroeger een functie en zijn die door de jaren heen verloren. Denk aan een woonhuis waar een gezin in heeft gewoond of een radiostation welke een grote rol heeft gespeeld tijdens de oorlog. Door verloop van tijd zijn deze plekken doordat ze minder relevant werden of niet meer nodig waren van functie veranderd. De nieuwe huidige functie is namelijk dat van een museum. Als ik mij persoonlijk op deze plekken bevind voelt het toch altijd een beetje raar aan. Dit komt doordat de huidige functie eigenlijk niet klopt met de originele functie waar het gebouw destijds voor is gebouwd. Hierdoor wordt je overspoeld met een gevoel van verstilling en leegte, alsof er alleen nog een leeg omhulsel is overgebleven van wat de plek ooit was.

All these places you see in this project used to serve a purpose and have lost it over the years. Think of a residential house where a family used to live or a radio station that played a significant role during the war. Over time, these places changed their function either because they became less relevant or were no longer needed. The new current function is that of a museum. When I personally find myself in these places, it always feels a bit strange. This is because the current function doesn't align with the original purpose for which the building was constructed back then. As a result, you are overwhelmed by a sense of stillness and emptiness, as if only an empty shell remains of what the place once was.
